A Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

WE have been at the Sannes' since Friday spending time here, and having a wonderful time. Karady had many firsts in the past few days. We started with supper on Thursday night, and she swang for the first time. Friday and Saturday we spent outside, mainly Saturday. Karady played in the sandbox, which she loved, and pushed a little tykes car all around the backyard. We got lots of pictures and video. She is getting such a nice tan. She has been such a good girl. SHe has been toughening up her skin with scratches and she tips over her car and has wrecks and gets right back up again and away she goes. Out next visit is scheduled for June 19th. She even has stood on the seat of her little car. I hope she isn't going to be a climber. Her dad has been in SD on a bike trip since Thursday and I have been sending him pictures via cell phone. I think he really misses her because he always wants me to put the phone up to her ear so he can talk to her. The Sannes' are going to let us borrow the car for the summer.
We went to one open house today. After we went to our house and she took a 1 1/2 nap, while I potted up some of my flowers. I saw there was a call from her BM on the caller ID, but no message.
Last night she had a bath with Charlie and once again she was all over the tub with her head under water laughing. No fear of water at all. She is just crazy.
We are mixing her milk about half and half now. I want to be done with formula before next weekend before we go to Duluth. Kris broke her toe, poor thing. That sucks.
Karady love the stairs at the Sannes'. We have to put up the gate otherwise up she goes. I let her crawl up them today, and she made it to the first landing in no time.
Karady has been getting up in the middle of the night, starting last Thursday. She just starts crying. So I hold her, and then she goes right to sleep.

WEll that's all.

Bye Bye BaBa

I decided yesterday that it was time to give up the bottle. LuLu had her last one yesterday morning. She is doing fine without it, but I miss the cuddle time. I was like a slap to the face that my baby is growing up. We are also mixing whole milk in with her formula 1/4 to 3/4 formula. I can't believe in 2 weeks she will be one. Very hard to believe. Her little face has started to get tan. She has been outside a lot at daycare and at home here. We have been working in the flowerbeds in the evenings, getting rid of the grass.
It seems our dear child has developed a little attitude. Joann told me today, she throws a fit when anyone else rides in the wagon with her. She is quite a handful when she throws a fit.
Nolan had his check up today on his ear, and it seems all is well. A little bit of swelling internally yet, but not too bad. He goes back again on June 18th. One day before we take our mini trip around the state. He has been working on getting the bike ready for the 3rd annual Memorial Day Guys only trip to the Black Hills. Lulu and I will be having a sleepover again at the Sannes, since I am on call. I might try to sneak away over the weekend for a few hours and get my garden in, at least some of the seeds in the ground. THe tomatoes and peppers can wait a bit. It is graduation here also. It will be nice to have a 3 day weekend. We have lots of food and fun planned again. Then next weekend Karady and I, along with Brian, Kristin and Taylor are going to Duluth to Meilee's dance recital. Can't wait. WEll time to go to be early. It has been late the past few nights.

Tip Toe Thru the Tulips

Yesterday after I picked up LuLu from Daycare, we took some photos by my tulips. They get bigger and better every year. I picked one for her and she procedded to rip it apart, and tried to eat it. It was so beautiful. Today it is cool and windy. I heard Bob's photo is having a contest for spring, and I got a few really good ones from this photo shoot, and I have contemplated entering a few.

Watched the spring to remember on KFYR tonight. They had footage from all the cities that got flooded. Saw Nolan again from the footage, and we decided we should get the tape from KFYR. WE lived through it, and it would be a good souvenier.
That's all for now.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello all. We had an outstanding today. Yesterday we went to visit Great Grandma Dorothy for her 97th birthday, one day late. I mad an angel food cake and she enjoyed watching Karady get around all over. Her memory and health are very poor.Janenne and Don, Nolan's aunt and Uncle came from Billings, and I had them over for supper saturday. I make chicken and stuffing in the crockpot, strawberry spinich salad and crock pot chocolate cake. Janenne got the recipes for all of the dishes. THey must have been good.

WE met my sister Jodi, Eric and Dylan, and my mom and dad at Red Lobster today. WE got in before the rush. We had a great lunch. THen off we went to Menards and found some nice perennials and annuals. Nolan left with my dad to go see Star Trek while we went flower shopping. THen we went to Plant Perfect and down to Party America to get a few things for the big birthday party that will occur in less than a month. I think I have the menu finalized. Then we went to Runnings to find some vege plants. I just love flower shopping with my mom. WE try to make is a yearly tradition. The plants were so very nice. I wish I had unlimited funds for this kind of shopping. I could go crazy. Karady was so good. We put her in the stroller and she just sat there, as good as gold. SHe would nap when we drove, and could not have been better. Of course we ran out of time and Nolan got out of the movie after 2 hours. HE said it was very good. My dad went car shopping and found an UPlander he seems to like. I am sure that will be a purchase for them very soon. We met dad and NOlan at Kmart and I was going to climb up into the back of the truck, and I sprained my foot. It hurt so bad I thought I broke it. I hobbled to the car and took some Ibuprofin. By the time I got home, it felt better and I was able to limp on it. Thank goodness. I really don't want to be out of commision. WE had leftover chicken and soup and played outside for a little bit. Nolan is snoozing now, and Karady is playing before she has to go to bed. I couldn't have asked for a better day. Thank you NOlan for the CM coverset from Karady, and of course thank you lord for answering our prayers with the beautiful Baby girl. My sister sent me a lovely card, thanks Kris, with pictures of the Kids. I had a nice surprise when we got home; some cute Karen Foster stickers and some matching paper from Tammi for my first mother's day. Karady bought her second mom Tammi some stuff too, so she will get a blated Mother's Day gift. Thanks Tammi, love the stuff.
The BM called me before we left to wish me a Happy MOther's day. She is very excited about the scrapbook she it doing of Karady. I am glad I suggested it. SHe called me because she doesn't have much contact with her own mother, and she said she was thinking of me today.
I hope to get pictures posted with some of my older posts soon. I screwed up and reformated my card and lost a huge amount of pictures. Luckily I had uploaded 99% of them to York recently, otherwise I would have been so pissed. I retook the ones I didn't upload today with my flowers from karady from Daycare, and the ones with Grandma.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day with their mothers, or thoughts of their mothers, or with their children. My first one was unforgettable!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunny Days

It was an extremely nice weekend. WE got outside all day yesterday. I was working in my flower beds. I took a blanket and put Karady on it, thinking she wouldn't like the grass, and stay there. Of course I was wrong. She was all over, so I had to go around and pick up all the dog poop so she wouldn't put it in her mouth. She was all over the yard! She was putting rocks in my planters, and helped daddy plant a shrub. She love it. WE blew bubbles later, but didn't get very good pictures. We look forward to many more days. Man was she dirty. I must remember to put old socks on her whenwe go out. She stands up by everything now. It won't be long, and she will be walking.

Oh 2 weeks ago Karady bit at Daycare. Just the little girls shirt. She has done that to us before also. She is starting to get one of her two front teeth. Thank GOD, she won't be fang girl forever. She has got a snotty nose and a cough with her teething. Kind of cranky also.

I got spring fever and started washing up her summer stuff. Good lord she has clothes. I just love shopping for her.

Well TTFN

Hello from the Mini Apple

We left Monday for Minneapolis at 10:00 and took our sweet time getting here. WE stopped at the outlet mall to avoid rush hour traffic and shopped for Lulu for next year. Got some good stuff at good prices. WE borrowed the Sannes' van for more room, and also for the DVD player. Nolan put the earphones on her and she looked so cute. Thanks guys, NOlan would have never been able to buy his leaf blower and Karady's new Ceiling Fan in Fargo without it. So we got to our Hotel across from the MOA at 8:00 pm. Karady did so good. She was bouncing off the walls when we got settled, and didn't get to sleep until 11:00.

WE slept in the next day and went to Nolan's consult with Dr. Nissen. He was concerned once he looked into his ear that he would have to lay open the ear to do what he needed to do, which included putting in a graft for the ear drum. This meant of course that Nolan would have to be intubated. He has not had very good luck with intubation, as he gets so violently nauseated. Of course the last time he was intubated was 20 years ago. After the consult we went to the mall and had lunch at Bubba Gumps. IT was good, but spendy. THen we hit the scrapbook store, where Karady helped me with stickers I did not need, little hands are so fast. We then Hit the middle of the mall where Karady did a little ride, and we took pictures in Lego Land. We also walked throught American Girl, and Nolan was astounded by the price of the dolls. He said "If I am going to pay that much for a doll, it won't be played with." Just wanted to get that in writing, because more than likely we will visit again when Lulu is older. While we were in amusement part of the mall one of the workers stopped us and said what a heartbreaker our little girl was going to be. It's always the men who say that. We know she is very cute. In fact I watch the faces of strangers when we walk around, and so many when they see her, just beam with smiles. She has that affect on people. She is so precious and of course we know this, and think so too, as any parent would. We then went and built Karady's LULU bear at build a bear. We went through all the steps of building the bear. Nolan I guess promised her one if she was good on the trip there, and she was.
We took Karady swimming for the first time that evening. Oh Lord. I think we have a little fish on our hands. She loves her bath, in fact in the bathtub at the Hotel, she was all over the place. I would have thought she was on a slip and slide, totally out of contol. She doesn't care if water gets in her face, or anything. I had a baby floatie for her, and she didn't even care the water wasn't that warm. There was no baby pool, so we stayed in the big pool. When we took her out of the floatie she even moved her arms and legs like she wanted to swim.

We had to be up early the next day for surgery. We left by 8 and checked in. We took the stroller with, since that was the only way I could survive with our bag of goodies and a baby. She entertained everyone in the waiting room. One man watched her very intently, and decided she was probably going to be a lefty. I told him her dad wouldn't be happy to hear that. Nolan went down at 10:45, and didn't get out until 2:00. The doctor came and talked to me and said things went fine. Karady went to the McDonlads right in the hospital for a bite, and when we got back, Nolan was in recovery. Eating out so much, my diet was blown, and I am sick of fries. We won't know for a couple of months if it was sucessful until after all the internal packing comes out. He did well with the anesthesia, and we headed home. I had to drive home, and it was a piece of cake. Daddy rested, then we went to Target for some supplies for his ear. Karady got a new pair of socks and Daddy got a Star Trek model, since he was such a good boy in surgery.

We left on Thursday and headed for home. We ate at IHOP, which was very good. WE had never eaten there before. WE made only a few stops to go to the bathroom. Karady did well, and kept daddy busy in the back with snacks and playing pickup. WE got home at like 5:00 and then I unpacked, and Karady of course went nuts again, since she had been cooped up all day.

Well that's all.
